The traditional bowl design is too deep for cats. It blocks their field of view and irritates their whiskers (often called whisker stress or whisker fatigue). Plates and saucers are too shallow, often resulting in a mess all over your floor. Our design is a carefully balanced mix between a bowl and a saucer. It’s deep enough to contain food, but shallow enough to be comfortable for your cat. The bottom corners are rounded, which prevents food from getting caught and helps with ease of cleaning. Don’t worry though – there’s still plenty of flat bottom area to keep the bowl stable.
Plastic easily harbors bacteria, which can lead to feline acne or other health issues. Ceramic may contain lead in the glaze, and breaks, chips, or cracks easily. Experts agree that stainless steel is the best choice for cat bowls but it doesn’t end there. Many consumers don’t realize it, but there are hundreds of different grades of stainless steel. We use only 304 series stainless steel (also referred to as 18/8 stainless steel). It’s food grade, durable, easy to clean, and the grade most experts would agree is perfect for a cat food or water bowl. Other manufacturers cut costs by using inferior grades of stainless steel and most don’t even mention the grade they use in their product.
Some foreign made pet bowls have tested positive for high levels of lead and some have been recalled due to radioactive contamination. Our stainless steel is sourced from only U.S. manufacturers. It all passes an extensive metallurgical analysis prior to use, confirming it’s identity as a 304 series stainless steel. All of our bowls are manufactured right here in the U.S. in facilities that make human grade items for the food and medical industries. Each batch of bowls is screened for elevated radioactivity and third-party tested for the heavy metals lead, mercury, and cadmium. A lab accredited by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) performs our third party testing (view latest test results here).
You won’t find a “pet use only” label on our product. Our bowls can be used by humans and pets. We don’t stick any adhesive labels on the bowl itself, so you won’t spend half an hour trying to peel them off before use. We apply no coatings, adhesives, rubber, or plastic to our bowls - just pure stainless steel.
We accept returns for any reason within 30 days or your shipment delivery date. We even cover the shipping cost of your first return!
Note: Our cat bowls and small dog bowls are identical (they're the same bowl).
TIP! Consider our medium or large size dog bowl for water, especially if you have multiple cats. The deeper bowl design won't bother your cat, as unlike with food, your cat will drink only from the top of the water's surface, and won't need to put their face in the bottom of the bowl.
